Narcissa walks into the great hall in her long black robes which slightly touch the floor, her long blonde hair tied up in a lose pontytail. She walked over to the slytherin table and took a seat. The boys were all talking about quidditch and the girls tlaking about the ball thats coming up. Narcissa stared blankly at a piece of parchment which had been left at the table. She finally looked away and poured herself a coffee and made some toast and jam. She looked around spotting her friends just walking into the great hall, her blue eyes now shinning. She moved over so they could take a seat next to her. They got into conversation about the upcoming ball talking about who they would like to go with and what they are wearning. Narcissa blushed slightly as the topic of her and Lucius going together was approched. "Face it cissa you do like Lucius, you guys would make a great couple i mean your both evil and blonde! just imagine your kids' they all laughed even Narcissa. "its not going tohappen guys, i think Lucius likes my sister Bellatrix anyway." she said sulkily

[Severus Snape]

He entered the great hall wearing his usual billowing black robes, and sat at the Slytherin table. The whole hall was filled with noise and chattering, and his own, withdrawn, introvert self couldn't stand it. He tried his hardest to ignore the noise. He overheard a few girls squeal in excitement as they related who they were going out to the ball with. He himself had asked noone to the ball yet, and needed to find somebody to bring to salvage himself from shame. "Not that I don't have enough of it yet." He said to himself, glaring as some who overheard laughed, thinking that he was probably daft.

Poor Sev. Lmao.

Narcissa pulled away from the conversation she was having with her friends and looked to Snape. "Hey severus, who are you going to the ball with?" she said sliding over next to him, her blue eyes looking at him with mild interest. Judging by the way he was sitting she could tell he wasn't in a good mood, she looked over to potter and his friends and then back to snape who seemed to be lost in deep thought. She cleared her throat to make sure that he knows she was there, but the thought he was ignoring her crossed her mind. Narcissa didnt like being ignored and not being the center of attention.

[Severus Snape]

He took a deep breath when he heard Narcissa, his love interest, asked him whom he was going to the ball with. He looked straight forward, and then finally at her, and observed her with his obsidian eyes. "I don't have anyone to go with yet, Narcissa." He replied simply, and looked forward again. He didn't want to ask her, since she was already going with Lucius, who was obviously into her, and her into him.

Narcissa sighed and looked stright ahead too, she didnt have a date either but didnt want to say it because she thought it made her sound lonerish, then she thought that maybe severus might think that she was going with someone when she wasn't... she shrugged to herself then took a breath. "Me neither, i think my sister might be going with Lucius" she said her voice cold matching her eyes. She looked back over to her friends all of who seemed to be laughing about something, she looked back to snape and smiled. "Why dont you ask someone, im sure they'd say yes? I mean seriously you know i hear that Susan really likes you" she said sweetly (i have no idea who susan is lol)

Who's Susan? Lmao, I'm joking, I know you made her up.

"I thought you were going with Lucius, Narcissa?" He asked, hope glinting in his eyes. A few seconds later he went back to hiding his emotions. "Susan is not really my type." He said, his lips upward, in what could possibly be called a smile. "I was thinking of asking someone, but I'm scared that she'd say flat out no." He said, his face returning back to it's formally and normally emotionless state. He watched Narcissa silently, trying to gauge her reply.

"oh well im sure susan will be dissapointed but oh well *she laughed at the comment about Lucius* no im not going with Lucius. i was hoping to though, but i dont know. He hasn't asked me and i haven't seen him so i cant ask him." she said sounding slightly put out. "It doenst matter though because im sure there are plently of other oppurtinitys to go with him to a ball" she said her hopes rising. She looked at snape and gave him a flashy smile.

Well that was it. His suspicions were confirmed, Narcissa was, well, liked Lucius. 'How can I ask her now? Should I even bother? Why bother, in a billion years we'd all be obliterated by a black hole, anyway.' He thought, gazing at her. 'Oh, to hell with it all!' He thought making up his mind. "Narcissa?" He asked, to get her attention, "Would you, err, uh... Uhm.. Wouldyouliketogototheballwithme?!" He asked in one breath, making it sound rushed. He watched her silently, hoping, no, praying, not to be rejected.

Narcissa who seemed to be in a trance came around as she hear an invatation to the ball, although she really wanted to go with Lucius she didn't want to say no to snap. More to the point she couldn't say no to snape, he was a great friend to her he always had been. She made up her mind although it was hard. She smiled at snape her blue eyes gazing into his "Sure Severus i'd love to go with you" she said smiling at him. She though f she went with snape it would be nothing more then friends at least thats what she hoped, she thought that if she went with snape they could dance and have fun and she might even get a dance with Lucius... if he wanted to though which she highly doubted.

He heard something like, "Yes, I would like to go with you to the ball." He looked around, thinking it was someone else. When he realized that Narcissa had agreed to go with him, he smiled at her. He looked pretty normal in the outside, but inside he was screaming for joy! At last, he, the outcast of the group, had been rejected, by his love interest, to boot! 'My lucky day...' He thought, grasping Narcissa's hand with his. "I really appreciate it, 'Cissa." He said, before he let go of her hand and smiled. 'Thanks for giving me a chance.' He thought, as he grinned inwardly. "Thanks so much." He added with a smile.

Narcissa smiled arkwardly and then pulled her hand slowly back now smiling althought hinking hard 'what if severus thinks this means i want to be more then friends? but of course he wouldn't think that i mean he knows that i like Lucius. Doesn't he? Should i tell him im only going with him out of friend ship? No if he tries anything at the ball then i will tell him.' Narcissa stood and picked up her bag "well severus i'll see you tonight a seven o'clock then." she said with a smile and dearted from the great hall thoughts rushing through her head.

[Bellatrix Black]

Bellatrix walked into the Great Hall with utter most confidence,Her mind was full of thoughts about the up coming dance and It seemed the Hall was gossiping about her same thoughts. Her eyes scanned the Hall and they stopped on two figures,her sister,Narcissa,and Severus. She came to the conclusion they were talking about the dance since Severus was practically holding Narcissa's hand and not to mention he was practically jumping with joy. Bellatrix took a seat at the Slytherin Table and listened to the conversation about the dance,they were babbling on about what they were going to wear and who they were going to ask.How Pathetic. "Really, girls" Bellatrix spat "It's just a dance.'' They all looked at me horrified,like I had just killed someone. Bellatrix just shook her head and let out a low key sigh then started shuffling through a large pile of parchment infront of her.

"See you." He whispered quietly, gazing down at his hands.
